About Me

Hey there friends!  I’m Ms. Andrea and welcome to my class!  I am in my 10th year teaching at my current special education school.  In that time I’ve taught from Pre-k through 5th grade, but currently in my second year of Pre-k.  Out of all the grades I’ve taught, I’d have to say that Pre-k and Kindergarten are my favorites.  I love the babies!

I love creating adapted materials for my kids.  Nothing makes me prouder than seeing my kids succeeding in learning and using materials that helps them do that!

I also love to organize and have an organized space.  I always say, “A prepared and organized environment is a successful environment.”  I find myself not being able to focus on my tasks if I’m working in an unorganized space.  If I feel this way, I wonder how my kids feel!

This space is for me to share classroom happenings, organization tips and tricks, how I adapt materials for my kids, and all the fun we have!  Thanks for stopping by!

Then they rolled a die to determine how many eyes, teeth, and horns their monster will have. We worked on color discrimination, counting, and it was an introduction to rolling a die. I put left over parts in the art center if they feel inspired to make another one!

I had to adapt our anchor chart a bit to allow the kids to be more successful. I made a colored border around each sense and used colored tape so they knew where to match to. Everything is also laminated so I can use it next year!
